What is Ford Traffic Sign Recognition?

The innovative Traffic Sign Recognition technology from Ford identifies traffic signs and then displays them on the instrument panel to let you know of anything you need to be aware of while driving. It even flashes when you're over the speed limit, helping you to drive both legally and safely.

How does it work?

The Ford Traffic Sign Recognition system - which can be deactivated - uses a forward-facing video camera mounted behind the rear-view mirror and monitors oncoming traffic signs and displays them on a colour screen. It can show two signs simultaneously and is an invaluable feature as even the most observant motorists can occasionally miss important markers.

The Ford Traffic Sign Recognition system encourages safe speed practice and minimises the risk of prosecution. The driver can choose when to be warned about infractions. This can be either 5, 10, or 15mph above the legal speed limit.
