Ford has secured plenty of top awards this year with the
Ford Focus,
Fiesta and
Transit Custom stealing the show!
The
Ford Fiesta ST was awarded 'Hot Hatchback'
Car of the Year and the
Best Car for Thrill Seekers at the Parkers' New Car Awards, as well as their winning '
Used Car of the Year' award.
Parkers editor Keith Adams said 'The Fiesta ST takes the overall honours in the Parkers New Car Awards 2019 because it's an outstanding car. Not just in terms of driver interaction and enjoyment, which is a given in a fast Ford. Neither does it win because it's astonishing value for money, offering more ability for your monthly payments than any other car"
He went on to say, "The Fiesta ST is a landmark car - it's a sporting car for everyone and head and shoulders above all of its rivals."
The Fiesta ST was also named '
Hot Hatch of the Year 2018' in Top Gear Magazine's awards. The magazine stated "The Ford Fiesta ST was a car that was exactly as good as the sum of its parts because they were all really good parts. Strong engine, good gearshift, the already amusing chassis of the regular Fiesta - it would have been harder for Ford to get it wrong than oh, so right.'
The Fiesta was also named '
Best Small Car' by the Business Car awards and '
Used Car of the Year' by the Motor Trader awards and has been nominated for the same prize at the
AM Awards.
Ford has also bagged two awards in the News UK Motor awards which are judged by reader votes and journalists, with the Fiesta ST being named 'The Sun Car of the Year' and the Transit Custom named 'Van of the Year'.
The Ford Focus has secured the title of '
Best Small Family Car' at the Parkers' New Car awards. Parkers chose the winners based on the buying habits of the website's 2.9-million-plus users actively involved in the buying process, who described the Focus as: "Way roomier than before, more refined and better to drive and live with. Combine these qualities with a fully-packed suite of class-leading safety equipment and the Focus makes an excellent family choice."
The Focus took home the award for '
Best Lower Medium Car' at the Business Car Awards and has been nominated as 'Best New Car' at the
AM awards.
