A new Ford Ranger is coming and it's a built-for-purpose pick-up truck and commercial vehicle that's smarter, safer and more efficient than ever! Ford's facelifted Ranger is set to arrive in early 2016, with design changes, active safety technology and increased efficiency.
With a fresh modern design and upgraded styling, the New Ford Ranger offers high-quality materials making it an all-round impressive package. Gone are the straight-edged grille and curved headlamps, replaced with the trapezoidal style grille and sharper-looking light units. At the rear the changes are more subtle with just new tail-lights.
A lot of effort has gone into updating the outgoing Ranger's interior to create an even more comfortable, contemporary and car-like environment. There's the latest SYNC 2 eight-inch touchscreen nav and infotainment system, plus smart new instrument design with dual information screens either side of the dials, while more sound-deadening features have also been included.
The side step description is now plastic side steps with brushed metallic inserts.
Upgrades have also been made to the Ranger's engine choices, to deliver more power and performance, along with outstanding fuel efficiency and low emissions. Improvements come courtesy of a new electric power steering system, standard start/stop and longer gear ratios. Ford has also re-tuned the suspension for better handling.
The 198bhp 3.2-litre Duratorq five-cylinder diesel has cut fuel consumption by 18 percent. The lesser 158bhp 2.2-litre unit gets similar tweaks, while the base 128bhp model improves its mpg figure by 22 percent.
Not only is the new Ford Ranger as strong as it is good looking but this is a pick-up truck that is smart. With new state-of-the-art technologies including Lane Keeping Aid, Adaptive Cruise Control, Driver Alert System, Front and Rear Park Assist, Forward Alert and Hill-Descent Control the facelifted model shows maturity. It even gets a handy 240-volt power socket for charging laptops and the like.
Unfortunately the new Ford Ranger isn't expected to land in the UK until early 2016. But if you're as excited as we are, keep a look out on our social accounts as we'll keep you posted on updates as they arrive.
