Three Exciting New Additions Come To The Ford Commercial Range

Ford have unveiled a hat-trick of new vans to join the existing Ford Commercial Vehicle Range. The Transit Custom will now be available with a 6-speed PowerShift gearbox, whilst both the Transit Courier and Transit Custom will be available in four new colour editions.

Transit Custom Colour Editions

Ford have announced that short wheelbase 290 Custom Trend will now get an option of four eye-catching new colour editions for 2017. The Transit Custom Colour Editions will be available in Race Red, Deep Impact Blue, Frozen White and Shadow Black. All colours feature contrasting roof, mirrors and side stripes, along with black alloy wheels in a design unique to the colour edition.

All four colour editions will feature the 170ps 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine with 6-speed manual transmission. With more engines being in the pipeline for future releases.

All Colour Editions are available to order now from your local TCH Transit Centre.

PowerShift 'Box Added To Custom Lineup

Ford have also announced that the Transit Custom will be the first van (excluding the Ford Ranger) to feature a 6-speed PowerShift gearbox. Building on the success of the 6-speed PowerShift featured in the American Ford Commercial Range, Ford of Europe have added decided to bring the PowerShift to the Transit Custom to help with van drivers who spend a lot of their working day in and around city centres. Utilising a 6-speed PowerShift box pushes fuel efficiency up to around 40mpg. What's more the PowerShift 'box features both Adaptive Changing; where the car can tell if the road has a gradient and will control the revs accordingly, and ShiftSelect which gives the driver the option to shift manually if prefered as well as learning when the driver manually up or down shifts and adjusting its shifts accordingly.

Transit Courier Sport

Next up Ford have announced another Sport Van being added to the Transit Range. The Transit Courier Sport will be available in 5 colour options, Frozen White and Race Red as standard, with Magnetic (our pick of the colours) Deep Impact Blue and Shadow Black being available as cost options. 

The Courier Sport features the award-winning 1.0T EcoBoost petrol engine generating 100PS and comes in 559kg payload form.
