Ford today revealed the next generation Ford Fiesta ST which is set to be powered by an all-new three-cylinder, 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine and innovations developed by Ford Performance for the Ford GT supercar and Focus RS hot hatchback, including Drive Mode technologies!
Shown ahead of its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the next generation 2018 Ford Fiesta ST will deliver 200 PS, 290 Nm of torque, and an anticipated 0-100 km/h (0‑62 mph) acceleration time of just 6.7 seconds.
A new combination of port fuel injection and direct fuel injection technology helps deliver high power and responsiveness alongside reduced CO 2 emissions, with a particular increase in fuel efficiency under light engine loads.
Set to be the third generation of the award winning Ford Fiesta ST, it will also be the first ever Fiesta ST to feature selectable Drive Modes.
Selectable Drive Modes add even more versatility, enabling drivers to optimise the driving experience to suit different scenarios. Changes to the engine, steering and stability controls are configured through Normal, Sport and Track settings, always providing the ultimate fun-to-drive experience for the school run, whether on the motorway and/or when pushing it to the limit on a track day.
With three- and five-door bodystyles and distinctive styling options that complement the model’s performance characteristics, the next generation Fiesta ST will deliver a broader appeal for an even wider range of car-buyers and will also offer more personalisation options than ever before.
Customers will be able to choose from a range of trim elements for the gear lever, steering wheel, door pulls and decorative dashboard spear, and select from distinctive styling packs. Bold and distinctive exterior styling includes a unique race-car-inspired mesh grille, colour options will include new Liquid Blue paint and the next generation Ford Fiesta ST will also feature exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels.
Supported by a floating, tablet-inspired touchscreen that can be operated using pinch and swipe gestures, Fiesta ST drivers will be aided by Ford’s SYNC 3 entertainment system to control audio, navigation and connected smartphones with simple conversational style voice commands, compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™. In addition, the 2018 next generation Ford Fiesta ST also include a high quality B&O PLAY Sound System for a high-end audio experience – among other features announced for the next generation 2017 Ford Fiesta.
Available from early 2018 in both three-door and five-door bodystyles, the next generation Ford Fiesta ST will be offered with a greater variety of options than ever before.
