Ford have revealed the all-new 2.0-litre Ford EcoBlue engine; the first in a new range of advanced Ford diesel engines that will deliver an unrivaled package of fuel efficiency, performance and refinement. This builds on the success of the petrol EcoBoost range, and the new EcoBlue diesel engine is 13 per cent more fuel efficient than the outgoing 2.2-litre TDCi engine, whilst also delivering 20 per cent more torque.
However, most exciting of all is what this new engine can offer to cars such as the Focus ST. The new EcoBlue engine promises to be quieter than its predecessor and will come in six states of tune, offering up to 237bhp depending on what engine size you opt for. What's more, the engine also includes some clever development; precision injection and Ford’s first-time use of modular camshafts helps the engine to squeeze every last drop of performance out of the unit.
