The Zetec model of the Ford Fiesta has been replaced by the better-equipped, new entry-level trim called the 'Trend'. The new 'Trend' trim replaces both the Zetec and basic Style models and is available to buy now with prices starting from £15,995 for the three-door option.
All Fiestas have an 8" touchscreen infotainment system which was previously only included on the higher-spec trims, while the Zetec and ST-Line trims used to come with a smaller 6.5" touchscreen and the now-discontinued Style model used to have a smaller screen with no touch functionality. The Trend's infotainment system includes DAB radio, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto,
automatic emergency assistance and two USB sockets.
Other standard Trend equipment includes the
Quickclear heated front windscreen, air conditioning, front fog lights, LED daytime running lights, a tyre pressure monitoring system and the NCAP safety pack. The Ford Fiesta has a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, partly due to the driver assistance tech on board and all Fiestas now offer
lane-keeping assistance, automatic headlights, a speed limiter, hill-start assistance and a rear seatbelt warning.
The
MyKey system is also fitted to the entry-level model which allows driver profiles to be set up on each of the two keys and which enables you to limit the audio volume, top speed and other factors to keep younger drivers safe.
The updated trim offers new alloy wheels (a size larger than was on the Zetec), a redesigned grille and privacy glass as standard. There are seven paint choices, six metallic colours and a solid red colour to choose from that are all included in the car's price. Optional add-ons to the Trend include a space-saver spare wheel instead of a tyre repair kit, the City Pack (rear parking sensors and heated, folding mirrors), the Comfort Pack (heated front seats and steering wheel) and a
SYNC 3 infotainment system with navigation and
FordPass Connect. A five-door option is also available.
The 1.1-litre engine produces 84bhp and manages acceleration from 0-62mph in 13.8 seconds and fuel economy is an impressive 48.7mpg.
