Elephant in the Transit - Ford and World Mental Health Day

10 October 2018

Elephant in the Transit - Ford and World Mental Health Day Wednesday 10th October is World Mental Health Day, and to help raise awareness of mental health conditions, Ford launched it's 'Elephant in the Transit Van' campaign.

As well as the video below, Ford teamed up with the graffiti artist, Ruddy Muddy, to reveal an elephant in the mud on a Transit van. Ford decided to make the Transit a leading part of the campaign because Ford's own research has shown that men who work in the construction and trades industries are at the greatest risk of depression.

The artwork and campaign aim to encourage everyone to #AskTwice if they think their loved ones are suffering from mental health problems. Often many of us find it hard to open up about our mental health, but we can all help to break the stigma by asking our friends if they're ok more than once when we feel them becoming more distant.

Mental health conditions affect everyone of all ages and backgrounds, it doesn't discriminate. Don't ignore the elephant in the room, if your friends or family seem like something might be up, ask them if they're ok twice.

It's time to change, let's end mental health discrimination.
