Ford Fiesta Active vs Ford Fiesta Titanium: How do they compare?

Even though both the Fiesta Active and Titanium trim levels are based on the standard Fiesta, there is a list of differences that you should be aware of before deciding on which to purchase.

Ford Fiesta Active

The Ford Fiesta Active is a chunkier, more outdoors focused version of the original Ford Fiesta, based on the SUV-crossover cars that have become popular over the last few years. It sits at around the same price point as the Ford Fiesta Titanium and Ford Fiesta ST-Line models and offers a similar interior with the look of an off-road vehicle or SUV.

Ford Fiesta Titanium

In contrast to the Ford Fiesta Active, which seeks to put a new spin on the Fiesta, the Ford Focus Titanium represents the classic Fiesta experience at its best while adding extra refinement and luxury. With improved the and styling, the Ford Fiesta Titanium is a great way to take the standard Fiesta experience up a notch without dramatically increasing the cost of the car.

Available engine sizes when choosing between Fiesta models

If you’re looking to buy a brand new Ford Fiesta in either the Fiesta Active or Titanium trim, you have a choice of engines. The Ford Fiesta Titanium offers:

  • 1.0L Ford EcoBoost 95PS (Titanium)
  • 1.0L Ford EcoBoost 125PS (Titanium X)

The Ford Fiesta Active offers:

  • 1.0L Ford EcoBoost 95PS (Active Edition)
  • 1.0L Ford EcoBoost 125PS (Active X Edition)

In addition, both cars are available with in a Hybrid version with a 1.0L Ford EcoBoost Hybrid (mHEV)125PS and 155PS engine.

If you’re looking for a diesel engine, you will need to look at a used Ford Fiesta as the models produced from 2020 onwards are no longer available with a diesel option.

The engine you choose will depend on the driving you do. The 95PS engine has plenty of power for city driving but, if you’re making regular trips up and down the motorway, you prefer a more powerful engine. Opting for an engine with a mild-hybrid system will help to save on fuel over the long-term but will cost more at the outset.

Ford Fiesta Titanium and Active exterior styling: A comparison

When it comes to the exterior of the cars they are both very different looking cars. The Fiesta Active has a significantly higher ride height than the Titanium thanks to its crossover pedigree and comes fitted with a practical pair of black roof rails, 17” 5-spoke alloy, and a rugged body styling kit to really set it apart from the rest of the range.

The Titanium keeps things a little more restrained, but still includes 16” 10-spoke alloys and chrome detailing along the exterior to help remind you that your Fiesta is just that little bit more special than the standard offering.

Rose Gold Fiesta

You’ve got the traditional Fiesta colour palette available to choose from and upgrade to across both models, but the Active takes things one step further with the option of Luxe Yellow available for those who really want to stand out from the crowd.

Pricing: How do the models compare?

When it comes to buying new, both the Fiesta Active and Titanium are significant steps up in price from the base Fiesta model which starts at a recommended price of £16,645, with the Fiesta Titanium starting at £19,145 and the Fiesta Active at £20,484.

These prices can climb quickly depending on the added extras you choose and the engine size, with the Fiesta Titanium and Active rising to £20,935 and £33,275 by opting for the top-spec 155PS mild hybrid engine.

If the crossover styling and outdoors feel and features of the Fiesta Active don’t appeal to you, the Fiesta Titanium might offer the perfect option. On the other hand, if you want to make the most of the features and different ride of the Fiesta Active, it offers a competitive car in the market in terms of its features and price.
