Ford Fiesta Zetec vs Ford Fiesta Titanium: How do they compare?

The Fiesta Titanium is more expensive than the Fiesta Zetec model, with the Ford Fiesta Zetec starting at £13,000 and the Ford Fiesta Titanium starting at just under £15,000. The Fiesta Titanium has more of a premium feel to it and features cruise control, parking sensors and privacy glass on the rear windows.

The Fiesta Zetec does not include these features, but they can be added as additional upgrades. The Fiesta Titanium model can be purchased with a more powerful engine and added safety features as standard, which can, once again, be purchased as add-ons for the Fiesta Zetec.

Engine sizes: A comparison

There are a variety of different choices in engine size for both the Ford Fiesta Zetec and the Titanium models. With the Ford Fiesta Zetec trim level, you can opt for one of the following:

  • 1.25-litre petrol (82hp) – available with a 5-speed manual gearbox
  • 1.0-litre petrol (80hp) – available with a 5-speed manual gearbox
  • 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbo petrol (100 hp) – available with a 5-speed manual or a PowerShift automatic gearbox
  • 1.6-litre petrol (150 hp) – available with PowerShift automatic gearbox
  • 1.5-litre turbodiesel (75hp) – available with a 5-speed manual gearbox

Alternatively, with the Fiesta Titanium, you can choose from the following:

  • 1.0-litre petrol (80hp) – available with a 5-speed manual gearbox
  • 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbo petrol (100 or 125hp) – available with a 5-speed manual or a PowerShift automatic gearbox
  • 1.6litre petrol (105hp) – available with a PowerShift automatic gearbox
  • 1.5-litre turbodiesel (75hp) – available with a 5-speed manual gearbox

If you are looking for extra power and higher horsepower, the Fiesta Titanium has the edge over the Fiesta Zetec, with the option of a 125hp, 1.0-litre engine. However the Fiesta Zetec has the extra option of the 1.25-litre engine and 82 horsepower, which is not available with the Fiesta Titanium.

The Ford Fiesta is also available in a Mild Hybrid version which uses an electric engine but switches over to a petrol engine when required. You can learn more about our Ford Electric range by clicking here.

Costs: What are the differences?

The Fiesta Zetec is not an entry level Fiesta so provides a number of additional features in comparison to the Fiesta Style model, with a sporty feel that the most basic model does not have, for an additional £1,500.

Prices for the Ford Fiesta Zetec start at around £13,000, whereas the mid-range Fiesta Titanium starts at just under £15,000. These prices increase with additional extras such as B&O sound systems and premium paint colours.

The difference between the Fiesta Zetec and Titanium in terms of price is a lot less than if you were to choose a Fiesta Zetec and add features such as the sound system for a more luxurious feel. If you opt for a monthly payment plan, the difference in cost between the two trims is less noticeable.

In terms of running costs, the Fiesta Zetec is more economical and better if you have a lower budget for fuel. However, the Fiesta Titanium is a great family car due to its large boot and economical engine.

If you’re looking for a more economical car over the long-term, the Fiesta Zetec is a great choice. However, if you have a slightly larger budget, the Fiesta Titanium might be the best car for you, with its extra features and luxurious feel.
