Ford Focus Zetec: Specifications

Originally, the Ford Focus Style model was the entry-level option for the Ford Focus range. However, in 2019, Ford revised the range and the Zetec became the entry level option.

Available engine and fuel options

The core petrol engines for the newest Ford Focus Zetec models are based on Ford EcoBoost technology, with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine available in a variety of options. The standard choice is the 125bhp variant, although a 100bhp option is available.

When it comes to the diesel range, the EcoBlue 1.5-litre engine is available with a choice of 95bhp or 120bhp. Ford also offers mild-hybrid engines with 123bhp or a maximum of 153bhp.

The Ford Focus Zetec is available with both petrol and diesel options, which all provide strong performance. The diesel engines with higher mpg are ideal if you cover a huge amount of mileage however, the petrol options also offer impressive fuel economy.

In addition to the standard petrol and diesel engines, the Ford Focus Zetec is also available with a 1.0-litre mild hybrid option which offers improved fuel consumption and lower emissions.

Key specifications

Despite its status as an entry model, the Ford Focus Zetec has a wide range of features.

Interior specifications include:

  • SYNC infotainment system compatible with Andriod Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Cruise control
  • Lane-keep alert

Exterior features include:

  • Automatic headlights
  • Quickclear heated windscreen
  • 16-inch alloy wheels

Although the Zetec does not quite have the sophisticated level of tech seen in the Titanium trim, you will still benefit from numerous features.

Gearbox options

The standard 6-speed manual gearbox is the most popular choice with drivers, with an 8-speed automatic gearbox also available.

Other available options

As the entry-level model, if you are looking for additional extras there are plenty of options to choose from as you move through the trim levels.

Ford Focus Titanium: Specifications

In previous generations of the Ford Focus range, the Titanium model was the top model. However, the range has been altered and added to so the Titanium trim now represents a mid-level option within the Ford Focus range.

Available engine and fuel options

In addition to the engine choices available with the Ford Focus Zetec, the Focus Titanium benefits from the introduction of the 1.5-litre petrol EcoBoost engine which delivers 150bhp. The diesel options are also expanded with the addition of the 2.0-litre EcoBlue engine, which delivers 150bhp.

As you would expect from a trim which includes the EcoBoost, EcoBlue and EcoBoost hybrid engines, there are a variety of fuel options to choose from. The mild hybrid engines are capable of delivering up to 56.6mpg. However, the most economical is the 1.5-litre EcoBlue engine which can offer up to 67.3mpg.

Key specifications

Interior features of the Ford Focus Titanium include:

  • Metal accents to doors, dashboard and steering wheel
  • Leather gear knob and steering wheel

Exterior features include:

Gearbox options

Every engine in the Ford Focus Titanium line-up is available with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. There is an option to choose an 8-speed automatic gearbox, which may be beneficial to those who complete a huge number of motorway miles.

Other available options

Key similarities

When it comes to engine choices, there are many similarities between the Ford Focus Zetec and the Ford Focus Titanium and they are both available as a mild-hybrid option.

However, if you’re looking for a car with a larger engine, the 2.0-litre EcoBlue Diesel is not available with the Ford Focus Zetec model.

Other similarities include the sophisticated tech, gearbox options and finish choices.

Key differences

The cost of the Ford Focus you choose will vary between models and the different trims so the extra features available with the Focus Titanium means that this trim is a more expensive option than the entry-level Focus Zetec.

However, the Focus Titanium trim offers a variety of features which are not available in the Focus Zetec, such as the smart centre console, which is one of the most notable differences within the interior.

To the exterior, the Ford Focus Titanium has a much more luxurious feel thanks to the chrome inserts and alloys, which are not included in the Ford Focus Zetec range.

In summary

The Ford Focus Titanium offers a much higher spec and more features than the Ford Focus Zetec and this is reflected in the initial purchase price.

Both the Ford Focus Zetec and Ford Focus Titanium are excellent options if you’re looking for a spacious hatchback with smooth performance and excellent styling.
