Interior and Exterior

The brand-new Ford Focus Hybrid combines performance with economy. With its lengthened wheelbase and bonnet to not only make it look sportier and more up-market than ever before, it also increases interior capacity in the iconic hatchback. The shape and size is similar to the previous model but with 50mm more in wheel base, which gives an extra 50mm leg room, and extra 60mm shoulder room and a larger boot capacity.

The Focus Hybrid also looks sleeker and more stylish than ever before with a sculptural body shape, longer wings, squat rear haunches, and bigger wheels, which give the Focus Hybrid a more powerful stance. The interior is simpler and more dynamic than before with a higher focus on quality. The floating central touchscreen take pride of place with easy-to-us Ford SYNC3, and an additional Head Up display, a first for Ford.

Focus on a New Platform

A sleek and compact style but with more room than ever before, clever design and a brand new platform have helped the Focus to reach new levels. The intelligent chassis design includes Ford’s first ever CCD (Continuously Controlled Damping), which adapts to the driving mode and terrain for a smooth ride and great handling. This includes clever Pothole Detection technology that alerts the suspension to potholes or damaged road surfaces and adapts to skim over the pothole and prevent damage.

Despite this, it manages to save 50kg of weight and improve aerodynamics to become more streamlined and fuel efficient. This is helped by the choice of EcoBoost petrol hybrid powertrains, which combine power and performance with low emissions.

Infotainment

The new Focus Hybrid design has removed the many-buttoned dash of the previous model, replacing it with Ford’s SYNC3 infotainment system. The system uses a central floating 8-inch touch screen, which is easy to use and closer to the driver’s line of sight, eliminating the need for multiple confusing buttons. Details such as air conditioning controls remain separate to make it convenient to flick on the cool air while on the go.

SYNC3 also includes Apple’s CarPlay and Android Auto so you can pump out your favourite tunes. They’ll sound incredible with the help of the B&O PLAY sound system, a first for the Focus range. B&O PLAY has been specially tested for the ultimate acoustics and sound quality, with a little help from 10 internal speakers.

Technology and Driver Assistance

The new Focus Hybrid is now the most customer-friendly and technologically advanced hatchback on sale in Europe, with loads of technologies and driver assistance features to make everything from parking to staying in lane so much easier.

For the first time ever, the Focus offers selectable driving modes with Normal, Sport, and Eco settings, as well as Adaptive Cruise Control that includes Stop and Go, Lane Centering, and Traffic Sign Recognition to keep you safe. Other highlights include Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, Active Park Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, and an Adaptive Front Lighting System.

A brand new addition for Ford, the Focus will also include a head-up display, a clear screen that appears above the steering wheel to display all the essential info, keeping your eyes closer to the road for added safety.
