The careful attention to detail by Ford's design team is evident across the new Ford Mondeo, from the LED daytime running lights to the tinted rear glass. To keep the flow and smooth profile of the car uninterrupted, the bumper, door mirror caps, and door handles will all be finished in your choice of paintwork colour.
Performance and Technology
As ever with the Mondeo a wide range of engines available, including for the first time in a Mondeo, Ford's triple International Engine of the Year award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine. A 2.0-litre Hybrid engine, marking Ford's first European hybrid model, and a range topping 210PS 2.0-litre Diesel featuring twin sequential turbocharging, will join the line up.
Technology, Safety and Security
In a massive step towards increasing safety, the car has received Euro NCAP's five-star safety rating. It is also the first Ford worldwide to be offered with 'Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection'; this system will detect people in the road ahead or that could be about to cross your path. It then informs the driver by an audible and visual warning, and if the driver ignores these, will automatically apply the brakes. This is joined by inflatable seatbelts to the rear seats. This combines elements of an airbag and a traditional 3-point safety belt to reduce neck and chest injuries, especially in vulnerable passengers, such as children or the elderly.
The New Mondeo is also equipped with ABS, the Intelligent Protection System, Adaptive Cruise Control, and both lane departure and blind spot warnings. Within the reinforced body shell that absorbs impact energy, you're also protected from every angle by substantial airbags and collapsible pedals.
