It’s official, the brand new Ford Transit Custom is Britain’s best van, at least according to Van Fleet World, who awarded it Van of the Year 2018.
Dan Gilkes, editor at Van Fleet World stated that ‘All in all, it’s a package that few, if any, of its rivals in its sector can beat.” The van also scooped the Best Medium Panel Van award, with the new one-tonne model thoroughly impressing the Van Fleet World team.
The brand new model will be officially launched at this year’s CV Show, showcasing the reliability and functionality of Britain’s favourite van. The brand new model includes an EcoBlue engine, available in 105PS, 130PS, and 170PS. The fuel-efficient engine will offer significant performance benefits and lower running costs than the previous model.
The brand new Fort Transit Custom is built for purpose with huge payloads and interior space. It is also packed full of technologies, including SYNC3, and a range of driver assistance features such as Intelligent Speed Assist.
Best Small Van
Also scooping an award was the Ford Transit Courier, which was named Britain’s Best Small Van by Van Fleet World. The team admired the van’s comfort and practicality, stating that “thanks to its car-like interior, great chassis and fuel-efficient engines, the Ford Transit Courier is the Best Small Van for 2018.”
For a small van, it has a payload of up to 600kg, available in a choice of van and kombi body styles, and a new Limited model. It is available with a 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine or 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine, offering great fuel efficiency.
