Watch the Fiesta ST Tackle the Via Campocatino

The Via Campocatino begins at the outskirts of an ancient roman town called Guarcino that dates all the way back to the 8th Century BC. The road spirals its way up to an Italian ski resort, sitting among the Ernici mountains, around 80km south east of Rome.

Because the road twists and turns the whole way up and down, it is best tackled by something small, fast and agile… the perfect job for the new Fiesta ST. And just look how it handles those corners and races through the straights!

The town is very popular in the ski season, but outside of these months, it is very quiet. This means that there is almost no traffic on the road during the summer months, so it is definitely worth a trip if you’re visiting Rome or more rural Italy during the summer.

The road itself is an absolute dream for petrol heads but if you’re dragging someone along with you while you’re in the area, it’s worth a trip for everyone, if just for the views alone. Once you reach the peak, the views out over the Ernici mountains are breath-taking, with views of the Monte Valino nature reserves to the north, and views all the way across to the national parks of Lazio to the south east.

Once you’re at the top, there is an observatory that was built towards the end of the last century that has been directly involved with the discover of 35 new small planets between Mars and Jupiter, which shows just how clear and unpolluted the skies in this part of Italy are. There are also authentic Italian restaurants at the top that are open for most of the year.

The wait for the summer months gives you plenty of time to wait for your new Fiesta ST and get on the road. Contact your local dealership to order yours now.
