Ford launches new Fiesta ST

As a petrolhead, you’ll know how hard it is to satisfy your desire for a new car. However, limited to 300 units in the UK, the Ford Fiesta ST does this and then some.

First things first, Ford said goodbye to the standard Fiesta suspension and said hello to a two-way adjustable coilovers with 12 bump clicks and 16 for rebound. Then a fresh set of flow-formed 18-inch alloy wheels shave 8kg of weight and provide an enhanced tyre contact with the road for improved grip and responses.

The obvious change to the previous Edition is the colour, which is great if you’re not a fan of orange as the Azura Blue brings colour to your drive. Though a more subtle adaption is the lowered drive height, which sits 15mm lower at the front and 10mm lower at the back. Naturally, the springs are painted in a Ford Performance Blue.

Priced from £27,075, the ST edition is available in three-door bodystyle and boasts a contrasting gloss-black rear diffuser, roof spoiler and ST badges. Inside The ST Edition also becomes the first Fiesta to receive the new Ford Performance steering wheel, which is home to a dedicated shortcut button to access the Sport driving mode. Additional interior upgrades include carbonfibre-effect dashboard trim and bespoke blue stitching.

The ST Edition is based on the top-spec ST-3 specification, which includes as standard the otherwise-optional Performance Pack, comprising a Quaife limited-slip differential, an upshift indicator and launch control.

Other than this, this is the Fiesta ST we all know and treasure. With a turbocharged 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine that sends 197bhp and 214lb ft of torque to the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. The car can achieve 0-62mph in 6.5sec and go on to a top speed of 143mph.
