The new Ford Mustang is performance and refinement personified, and it's finally coming to Europe for the first time as Ford release the first Mustang to be sold outside the USA since 1979. The new Ford Mustang is available as a Fastback or Convertible, with the option of a 2.3-litre EcoBoost or 5.0-litre V8 engine. Iconic status comes as standard. Contact TC Harrison Ford today for more details on this high-performance model.
The new Ford Mustang oozes power and is defined by its long, sculpted bonnet, sweeping roofline, low stance and all-round boyish good looks, making it tough, sporty and slightly bigger than other European sports cars. The Mustang's famous galloping pony logo takes pride of place on its wide grille, reminiscent of other Ford models as part of the 'One Ford' strategy. The clean-sheet design of the new Ford Mustang evokes the essential character of the vehicle, retaining key design elements that are easily recognisable to car fans across the world. The Ford Mustang convertible is the even more carefree cousin of the fastback. While it shares the same genes, it was purposefully designed from top to bottom, to be a convertible.
Colour choices include two non-cost colours, Competition Orange and Race Red, plus Oxford White, and six metallic finishes: Absolute Black, Deep Impact Blue, Guard, Magnetic, Ingot Silver, and Ruby Red. Also available is a tri-coat Triple Yellow.
Offered in right-hand drive for the first time ever, the new Ford Mustang has an aeronautically inspired cockpit interior, that offers a comfortable, well-equipped and invigorating space. Exquisite craftsmanship and contemporary styling are brought to life by features that include aluminium panels, leather seating and surrounds, and metallic detailing that puts every control intuitively to hand, whilst analogue dials provide immediate feedback.
The perfectly weighted steering wheel makes the car come alive in your hand, while SYNC 2, Ford's advanced infotainment system with a high-resolution, 8-inch colour touch screen and advanced voice control, gives easier access to audio, navigation, climate control and compatible mobile phones.
The 2.3 EcoBoost model is available in both Fastback and Convertible forms, with a choice of manual or automatic transmission for both. Manual versions achieve 35.3 mpg on the combined cycle and this drops to 28 mpg for the automatic version. Convertibles achieve slightly lower fuel economy figures.
The 5.0 V8 GT models are also available as either a manual or automatic, Fastback or Convertible. The V8 power means lower fuel consumption: official combined mpg for the manual fastback version is 20.9 mpg, but this rises to 23.5 mpg for the automatic. Convertible models achieve slightly lower fuel economy figures again.
Sophisticated safety system includes: a dual stage driver's airbag, optimised for chest protection; a dual stage passenger airbag and a driver's knee airbag. Another innovation is the Active Glovebox, a Ford first. This technology enables the glovebox door to expand into an airbag, helping to protect the front seat passenger's legs. The new Mustang also features a significant number of innovative technologies providing drivers with enhanced information, control, and connectivity when they want it. On a twisty back road or a weekend track day, the driver can tap the toggle switches on the console to quickly adjust steering effort, engine response, and transmission and electronic stability control settings using the available Selectable Drive Modes to create the perfect Mustang at any time.
