Our first look at the all-new Ford Fiesta for 2017!

The next generation all-new Ford Fiesta will replace the current Fiesta at TC Harrison Ford in the next few months and according to Ford is... The 'most technically advanced small car' on the market!

The Ford Fiesta is one of the most iconic nameplates in the automotive industry. With over 18 million sold worldwide in its 40 year history, the Ford Fiesta has also been Europe’s top-selling small car for the last four years, and there's a new version coming - actually four new versions!

Ford revealed four distinctive production variants of the new 2017 Fiesta, including the stylish Fiesta Titanium, the Ford Performance-inspired Fiesta ST-Line, the luxurious Fiesta Vignale – part of the Ford Vignale upscale product and ownership experience, and the Fiesta Active crossover – the first in a new line-up of Ford Active vehicles to be rolled out across the range in years to come.

Available with both three and five-doors, the next generation Fiesta will deliver superior quality and refinement; feature stylish new exterior and revolutionary interior designs and more personalisation options than ever before. Style, Zetec, Titanium, B&O PLAY Series, Vignale, ST-Line, Active… Every model offers something unique.

New designs and a new perspective for the next generation Ford Fiesta...

Underlying all the new 2017 Fiesta variants is a new exterior that builds on the bold styling of the outgoing Fiesta, with a more elegant, fluid design and transitional appearance. Simplified, straighter lines and de-cluttered surfaces deliver more visual strength. The bonnet now offers no centre bulge which allows the new, wider grille to dominate. Sleek headlamps offer a new wrap-around effect that is immediately recognisable day or night. The side profile is more settled with it's increased body length and width, helping to showcase it's more premium appearance that is designed to deliver captivating reflections under city lights. Unique new wheel designs are also available up to 18-inches and include non-symmetrical designs that evoke movement even when standing still. At the rear, new horizontal rear lights further enhance the Fiesta’s widened stance with broad shoulders, and feature a C-shaped signature light pattern.

The next generation Fiesta canvas can also be further personalised with options such as contrasting roof and door mirrors in black, white, Bohai Bay Mint or new Chrome Copper. Additional new exterior colours include Blue Wave, and for the Fiesta Vignale - Milano Grigio.

Each of the four newly revealed 2017 Ford Fiesta variants, deliver further on the unique designs of their characteristics. For example...

  • The new Ford Fiesta Vignale’s bespoke satin Vignale grille pattern, grille surround, foglamp surrounds, side spear and rear diffuser deco element help to add a luxurious appeal.
  • The Fiesta Titanium features a chrome bar execution for simplistic style. Vertical foglamps are connected by a smiling bumper feature line, making the model appear more optimistic and welcoming.
  • The 2017 Ford Fiesta ST-Line’s simple mesh and Ford Performance-inspired grille are designed to be representative of the performance that sits behind it. Lowered suspension and sports body styling that is more angular and aggressive with a functional rear spoiler further contribute to its surefooted stance.
  • The new Fiesta Active is further differentiated by a raised suspension profile, with dark cladding flowing from the front bumper lip, through the wheel arches and side profile to the rear. A hexagonal grille feature with dark elements for the liftgate licence plate area, contrast painted roof, and roof bars, all contribute to a more rugged, versatile feel.

The 2017 new Fiesta will also be available in Style, Zetec and an ST version.

Next generation performance and technical specifications...

Ford has further enhanced the compelling fun to drive character of the Fiesta with a simplified range of sophisticated Euro Stage 6 petrol and diesel engines, which will offer performance and fuel-efficiency that supports a class-leading driving experience and reduced costs for owners.

The next generation 2017 Ford Fiesta will be available with cutting-edge powertrains including Ford’s multi-award winning and popular 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine offering either 100, 125 and 140PS, supported by an all-new six-speed transmission with innovative friction reduction technologies or an optional six-speed automatic gearbox for the 100PS variant with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. There will also be new 1.1-Litre 70 or 85 PS petrol option, plus a new 1.5-litre TDCi diesel offering 120PS – the first high-power diesel Fiesta powertrain.

Ford anticipates CO 2 emissions from 82 to 104g/km and fuel efficiency is further enhanced across the range with Auto‑Start‑Stop technology and Active Grille Shutter for 1.0-litre EcoBoost and 85PS 1.5-litre TDCi engines. A new Eco button for manual transmissions adjusts engine and throttle settings to further help drivers save even more fuel when desired.

Next generation technology and safety...

The next generation Fiesta builds on class-leading driving dynamics to deliver more grip, better stopping performance, improved steering, improved ride quality and refinement. A stiffer body structure, reduced noise vibration and harshness and an acoustic windshield contribute to a more comfortable and premium driver and passenger experience.

The next generation Ford Fiesta features a class-leading range of technologies to enhance comfort, convenience and safety. Advanced driver assistance technologies are supported by two cameras, three radars and 12 ultrasonic sensors, which in combination are able to monitor 360 degrees around the vehicle, and scan the road ahead up to a distance of 130 metres – more than the length of a football pitch.

Drivers also will find the Fiesta easier to operate day-to-day. The 2017 Fiesta now features windscreen wipers that clear 13 per cent more of the windscreen; doors that require less effort to close and reduced chance of spillage when refuelling. Among the class-leading range of Fiesta driver assistance features is an enhanced Pedestrian Detection system that for the first time can help prevent collisions at night; and the first Ford Active Park Assist system that can deliver brake interventions to prevent low-speed bumps when parking hands-free.

The new Fiesta is also the first Ford vehicle to feature a premium B&O PLAY Sound System, with sophisticated SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system supported by floating high-definition touchscreens up to 8-inches.
