As our highly-anticipated Derby and Peterborough TCH Car Shows draw closer, what better time to showcase some of our award winning vehicles from previous years!
Each year, we invite local car club members and individual motor enthusiasts to display their pride and joy on our forecourts and a select few inside our dealerships. A judging panel then hands out awards to show stopping cars across a range of categories, from appreciating the rich heritage of a classic vehicle, to recognising the beauty of an enhanced modern motor.
The highly coveted Best in Show celebrates the standout vehicle that captures the attention of judges and visitors alike. This prestigious accolade is awarded to the car that combines exceptional presentation, uniqueness, and the undeniable wow factor - regardless of age or model. It’s the ultimate recognition of the finest Fords.

One of the previous winners of this award was a stunning 1978 Ford Escort Mexico in a Venetian Red colour. Its immaculate condition and head-turning bright paint job certainly caught the eye of the TCH Car Show judges.
A tribute to timeless motoring heritage, the Best Classic award honours vehicles manufactured before 1980. These cars are more than just machines, they’re working pieces of history, preserved with the utmost care by passionate owners. Classic cars are often some of the most head-turning vehicles on display at the show, due to their stark differences to cars we see on the roads today.

Another Ford Escort was one of the past winners of this award, this time in a vivd Modena Green. The 1975 show-stopping vehicle managed to impress the judges with its dashing spotlights and racing stripes. Congratulations to Steven Hickling for picking up this prize.
The Best Retro category shines a spotlight on icons of the late 20th century. Covering everything from boxy ‘80s hatchbacks to sleek ‘90s coupes, this award celebrates the nostalgia of an era of cars that are becoming rarer to see out and about as time goes on.

After more than three decades, a Ford Fiesta RS Turbo returned to Derby in style, to the very place where its journey began. Owner Kevin Backler originally purchased the car back in 1991 from our former TCH Ford dealership on Normanton Road. Now, with just 51,500 miles on the clock and in fantastic condition, it’s earned well-deserved recognition by taking home the Best Retro award at last year’s show.
Representing the cutting edge of design, performance, and technology, the Best Modern award is for vehicles from the year 2000 onwards. Whether it’s a finely tuned Mustang, or a head-turning Fiesta, this category displays the best of contemporary motoring excellence.

Last year’s TCH Car Show Derby Best Modern was picked up by Dean Mills’ striking Red Mustang GT. The judges enjoyed the GT500 kit, Cervinis bonnet and cobra exhaust. This isn’t the first time this suped-up Mustang scooped up an award at one of our shows, as it won Best in Show at the Peterborough edition of the previous year’s show as well. Congratulations Dean!
One of the most heartwarming awards of the day, the Kids’ Choice is exactly what it sounds like - voted for by our youngest visitors! Whether it’s the loudest engine, the brightest paint job, or just the coolest vibe, this award reflects the pure joy and excitement that cars bring to the next generation of enthusiasts.

A memorable winner of this award was Cat Davies with her Ford Focus ST250. The young voters were swayed by the red Lilo and Stitch themed decals on the car, which really stand out against the original black paint.
We look forward to hosting the TCH Car Show at both our Peterborough and Derby dealerships this year on Sunday 18th May. Good luck to all cars displaying and competing for this year’s top trophies!
We still have a few tickets remaining for the shows at Derby and Peterborough, including both display and spectator tickets, act fast!
