A Look at the TCH Car Show 2025

21/05/2025

The annual TCH Car Show was once again a roaring success at both our Derby and Peterborough dealerships!

The event, which took place on Sunday 18th May, saw our Peterborough and Derby FordStores welcome car enthusiasts to display their vehicles in our showrooms and on our forecourts.

Every year, each car show hosts our very own TCH Car Show Awards. These are celebration of all things Ford, and recognise stellar examples of vehicles across five categories.

We were lucky enough to have the awards at our Peterborough show judged by car experts Gary Chopping and RS Jamie! Let’s have a closer look at the winners…

Best Retro
MK3.5 Ford Fiesta RS1800

The Best Retro category casts a nostalgic glance back at the standout cars of the late 20th century. From the unmistakable silhouettes of ‘80s hatchbacks to the refined curves of ‘90s coupes, this award honours vehicles of the past that are becoming a rarer sight on your everyday drive.

This year’s Best Retro award for Peterborough went to a stunning example of a Ford Fiesta RS1800. Produced in 1994, this black retro Fiesta brought the nostalgic vibe to the TCH Car Show.

Best Classic
Ford Consul

This award category shines a light on historic automotive legacy, celebrating vehicles built before 1980. Cars that fall into this sector are often lovingly maintained by their owners, who are enthusiasts with a real passion for all things motor related.

Peterborough’s Best Classic award went to a pristine 1972 Ford Consul. The green coloured classic car impressed the judges with its individuality and the fact it was in mint condition.

Best Modern
Ford Mustang

The Best Modern award represents all things performance, technology, and enhancements. This category highlights the finest contemporary vehicles from 2000 onwards.

Dean Mills, a returning winner at the TCH Car Show, scooped up the Best Modern award with his decked out Ford Mustang GT. The striking red Mustang wowed attendees and judges alike thanks to its GT500 body kit, Cervinis bonnet and cobra exhaust.

Children’s Choice Award
Ford Mondeo

The most family-friendly award of the show is voted for by children attending the event! This award often goes to a vehicle with a bright paint job, themed decals, or unique accessories.

The winner of the Children’s Choice award at Peterborough was no different this year, with Star Wars Stormtrooper themed Mondeo won over the hearts of our young visitors.

Best In Show
Sierra Cosworth

This award goes to the car that truly steals the spotlight. It’s not about how old it is or what model it might be - it’s about the overall impact. The winner stands out with stunning looks, originality, and that special something that makes people stop and stare. It’s the highest recognition for a Ford that goes above and beyond the norm.

This head-turning Ford, featuring a gold-plated engine and alloy wheels, impressed the crowd and claimed the top award at the show. It also earned the title of Best European Car at the 2013 100% Tuning event in Rotterdam.

The Derby stop of The TCH Car Show was just as packed with incredible cars. Helping us pick the standout vehicles at this stint of the show was Gareth Butterfield, respected journalist at the Derby Telegraph - who had the tough job of choosing winners from a seriously impressive lineup. Here’s who took home the trophies:

Best Retro
Escort Cosworth

Derek Robert’s Escort Cosworth is a rare gem - one of the last ten ever made, built in Karmann, Germany, and finished in 1996. It’s a piece of motoring history and stood out in the Retro category.

Best Classic
Ford Escort Mexico Mk2

Last year’s Best in Show winner Matt Davies returned with his stunning Venetian red Escort Mexico Mk2 and picked up Best Classic this time around. It’s a beautiful car that just keeps on impressing on the forecourt of our show.

Best Modern
Ford Focus RS

This sleek blue Focus RS didn’t just look the part - it sounded it too. With a roaring engine and a spotless interior, it was a real crowd-pleaser and a worthy winner in the modern category. Ian Barker was a worthy winner of this year’s award.

Children’s Choice
‘I Am Batman’ Ford Focus RS

Lee Berry’s superhero-themed Focus RS was a massive hit with the kids at this year’s Car Show. Decked out in full DC Comics style, it brought a fun, playful vibe to the show - and clearly captured the imaginations of our youngest visitors.

Batman Ford Focus RS Derby TCH Car Show

Best in Show
Ford Escort Series 1 RS Turbo

Steven’s Escort RS Turbo is more than just a car - it’s a labour of love. After 3 and a half years of hard work restoring it, he’s brought this classic back to life, and it absolutely wowed the judges and the crowd alike.

We would like to thank everyone who made sure these shows were the best yet!
