The UK’s number one selling car since 2023, the Ford Puma, is celebrating the production of its one millionth edition to be built. The milestone model, like all the Pumas that came before, rolled off the assembly line at the Ford Craiova plant in Romania.
Puma’s success story began in 2019, when the compact crossover was launched to the European market. The car’s large storage space, fuel economy, and handling abilities has led it to become one of the most popular cars in the region, and was Ford’s most-popular selling vehicle in Europe for 2025.
The Puma’s dominance has only increased with the All-Electric Puma Gen-E, introduced in late 2024. The electrified SUV has a range of up to 234 miles, making it the perfect car for city driving, office commutes, and weekend escapes. The one millionth Puma produced was a Puma Gen-E in Vivid Yellow, which can be seen in the picture above alongside the first ever Puma to be completed.
Fırat Elhüseyni, plant director at Ford Otosan Craiova, said “It’s Puma’s combination of efficiency, fun and practicality that has made it such a popular choice for Europe’s drivers, and the reason why we have reached the millionth Puma.
It is an exciting time for Ford, and it is a great feeling to have played a part in Puma’s success story.”
