SHS (Super Hybrid System) is an advanced plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system developed by the Chery Automotive group. SHS can be seen across various Omoda and Jaecoo models, including the Jaecoo 7 SHS PHEV and the Omoda 7 SHS PHEV.
This system differs slightly from the SHS-H (Super Hybrid System - Hybrid), which is entirely self-charging, using a revolutionary system to maximise fuel economy. Vehicles using this technology include the Omoda 5 SHS-H and the Jaecoo 5 SHS-H.
The SHS works by blending a powerful turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor and a large battery, delivering an advanced plug-in hybrid system. This can be used to experience seamless, electric-first driving, providing a combined petrol and electric range exceeding 700 miles* in some models.
