One of the recent work experience placements at our TC Harrison Ford dealership in Huntingdon has turned into part-time job offer with the prospect of an apprenticeship to follow for Huntingdonshire Regional College Motor Vehicle learner Krystian Dworak.
Krystian, who impressed us during his placement which began last month, said: “I’ve been given lots of opportunities to learn and I’m pleased that I performed well enough to get a part-time job. The work experience placement has been a gateway for me and I’m looking forward to gaining more experience in my new role.”
Another HRC Motor Vehicle learner, Mark Linnell, has also returned to our Huntingdon Ford workshop for a second spell following a successful placement in December.
Nick Mace, our After Sales Manager at TC Harrison in Huntingdon, said: “Our relationship with Huntingdonshire Regional College has worked extremely well. Work experience allows us to see first hand the work ethic and enthusiasm of the students involved which in turn, helps us to identify future employees to invest in.”
TC Harrison has long support Huntingdonshire Regional College Motor Vehicle department by donating cars and components to work on. Earlier in January, the 2nd year HRC learners received an insight into what it takes to secure a job with TC Harrison's, when TCH Huntingdon's Assistant Service Manager Ben Hollis and Service Manager Tom Splevings at TCH St Neots offered a presentation at the college. The session, included messages on the importance of punctuality, attendance and the need to demonstrate good English and maths skills.
Sam Empson, Sales Executive at HRC, said: “It was really valuable for learners to see that employers place as much emphasis on good English and maths as the college does. HRC can support learners who need extra tuition in these areas to improve their chances of job success.”
