However, if you are looking for a stylish hot hatch with a sportier design, the Fiesta ST is a choice. When it comes to the driving position, the Fiesta ST wins with excellent driving visibility.

Inside, you can expect:

  • Recaro sports seats
  • Sports pedals
  • Heated steering wheel with a flat bottom design
  • 8-inch easy to use screen
  • Sat-nav
  • B&O stereo
  • Eight speakers

Exterior features

Along with all the standard colours available when you buy a Ford Fiesta, the Fiesta ST is also available in Molten Orange.

On the other hand, the Ford Focus ST is available in:

  • Tangerine Scream
  • Panther Black
  • Nitrous Blue

Available as a five-door hatchback or a five-door estate, the Ford Focus ST manages to set itself apart from the Fiesta ST. The wheels are 18”x7” while the Fiesta ST’s wheels are 17”x7”. The Fiesta ST is also slightly shorter than the Focus ST, which means there is a little less head height.

Overall, the Focus ST has the look of a premium sports car whereas the Fiesta ST offers a high-performance car with the look of an ordinary hatchback.

Performance

When comparing performance, the Fiesta ST has been highly praised for it’s driving capabilities and steering accuracy. The engine is equipped with a KP39 turbocharger which produces 202 lb-ft of torque.

On the other hand, the Focus ST has a larger and more impressive K03 turbocharger which produces 250 lb-ft or torque.

The Focus ST is 0.4 seconds faster than the Fiesta and it’s top speed is also 17mph higher at 154mph. Despite this, the Fiesta ST feels just as fast and even more exciting to drive. This is partly due to the over boost function which means it can reach up to 200hp.

If you choose the new Fiesta ST, you will enjoy a three-cylinder engine with a six-speed manual transmission. Once again, the Focus ST takes it one step further with a seven-speed automatic transmission. However, choosing this version instead of the standard six-speed manual hot-hatch should not increase fuel consumption.

Emissions

When considering fuel emissions, the Fiesta ST stands out. As a petrol vehicle, the Fiesta ST’s CO2 emissions are 114g per kilometre. It also provides 32mpg.

The Focus ST with a petrol engine provides 41.5mpg. It also provides CO2 emissions of 159g/k. The diesel option is far more efficient, with emissions of 110g/k and 67mpg.
