Ford has officially joined the FIA GT3 category with the new Mustang GT3. This bold and exciting new race car is based on the
2024 Mustang Dark Horse, but boasts motorsport design along with a colourful new livery and Ford Performance logo.
The car was unveiled during the centenary celebration on the eve of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Ford have an extensive history with Le Mans, with their most recent victory in the 2016 edition of the 24 Hour of Le Mans race, winning with the iconic Ford GT.
“Ford and Le Mans are bound together by history. And now we’re coming back to the most dramatic, most rewarding and most important race in the world,” said Jim Farley, CEO, Ford Motor Company. “It is not Ford versus Ferrari anymore. It is Ford versus everyone. Going back to Le Mans is the beginning of building a global motorsports business with Mustang, just like we are doing with Bronco and Raptor off-road.”
