Ford unveil Mustang GT3 at Le Mans

Ford continues its long history with vehicles at Le Mans with the Mustang GT3.

The Daring New Racing Mustang

Ford has officially joined the FIA GT3 category with the new Mustang GT3. This bold and exciting new race car is based on the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse, but boasts motorsport design along with a colourful new livery and Ford Performance logo.

The car was unveiled during the centenary celebration on the eve of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Ford have an extensive history with Le Mans, with their most recent victory in the 2016 edition of the 24 Hour of Le Mans race, winning with the iconic Ford GT.

“Ford and Le Mans are bound together by history. And now we’re coming back to the most dramatic, most rewarding and most important race in the world,” said Jim Farley, CEO, Ford Motor Company. “It is not Ford versus Ferrari anymore. It is Ford versus everyone. Going back to Le Mans is the beginning of building a global motorsports business with Mustang, just like we are doing with Bronco and Raptor off-road.”

New Logo, Same Iconic Brand

Ford has also launched new branding for Ford Performance around the world to coincide with the unveiling of the Mustang GT3. The simplified and minimalist logo will now be featured on all Ford Performance racing vehicles.

Ford Performance’s expressive new identity will help catapult them as a standout lifestyle brand with a sporting mindset. The cleaner design will make it easier to integrate across various parts of the Ford brand, including cars, merchandise and advertising.

Only Working with the Best

Ford Performance has decided to expand its association with two trusted allies, Multimatic and M-Sport, as the foundation for this endeavour. Multimatic, renowned creators of the legendary Ford GT, have played a crucial role in the Ford GT racing initiative and will lend their expertise to construct and help with the Mustang GT3.

Meanwhile, M-Sport, a longstanding partner in the World Rally Championship and a team with two championship victories, will be responsible for assembling the high performance 5.4-liter Coyote-based V8 engines developed by Ford Performance that empower this impressive new Mustang model.
